YBI ESREN PROJECT
ESREN is an innovative project aimed at minimizing rural-urban migration, especially among jobless young people in search of greener pasture.
BACKGROUND

provide avenue for the impoverished to express their creative and innovative ideas in business enterprise through financial empowerment.
mentor business owners to acquire entrepreneurial skill for effective and efficient management of their business ventures
alleviate poverty in the rural areas and make life attractive to rural dwellers
boost the purchasing power, improve the standard of living and overhaul the economy of the rural areas in Nigeria.
The Project
ESREN is a country-wide project that targets a specific group of people – impoverished rural community with disruptive and innovative business ideas.

while its expected outcomes are:
business innovators with improved business management and entrepreneurial skill and better prospect to succeed in their enterprises;
financially empowered rural entrepreneurs with potential to generate higher income and enjoy better standard of living;
young people with disincentivized disposition towards migrating to cities in search of greener pasture;
minimal social vices and decongestion in cities and urban areas as a result of reduction in migration of jobless youths;
empowered families with capacity to cross the poverty line and rise above bare subsistence
new businesses with capability to generate employment and transfer of business management skill;
improved rural economy with growth potential that will impact the national economy positively.
After series of activities that led to the final assessment of the applicants of the first ESREN Grant, the first three persons received the grant amount as announced during the advert, the remaining two persons received consolation prizes as deemed fit by management.
